Carmel Marathon

2012 Carmel Marathon Course Map

The Carmel Marathon (also a Boston Marathon Qualifying Event) will attract elite men and women from around the Midwest to compete for the special purse. The inaugural event attracted participants from 45 states!

The Carmel Marathon Championship Weekend start and finish line are located just north of the Palladium at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and City Center Drive (starting East on City Center Drive). We are one of a few marathons to utilize the same location for both the start and finish allowing friends and families to witness both without leaving the area. Staging will open at 6:45AM with opening ceremonial remarks and National Anthem beginning at 7:20AM followed by the 7:30AM official start.

We are a walker friendly event with a maximum course time of 6.5 hours or until 2:00PM (15 minute pace/mile). The Carmel Marathon course highlights the picturesque views of Hamilton County, Carmel Clay Parks trails, spectator-friendly neighborhoods, Carmel Arts and Design Downtown District, The Monon Community Center’s Central Park, and the new state-of-the art Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts. Music will help you unwind as you cool down and catch up with friends and family.

Technical shirts will be provided for all participants, and as you cross the finish line you will receive the inaugural, collectors-edition Carmel Marathon Championship Weekend Marathon finisher’s medal!
