All runners and walkers participating in the ISG 8K will utilize the same start and finish line as the Marathon and Half Marathon. Participants can begin entering their corrals at 6:45 a.m. for the 7:30 a.m. start. The ISG 8K course map can be found here. The awards for the ISG 8K will be presented at 8:30 a.m. on the west entrance of the Palladium in the center of the Tom Wood car display.

The ISG 8K course takes you north on Rangeline Road, through the Arts & Design District then north again Indiana's famous Monon Greenway Trail. Runners will then follow the Hagan-Burke Trail to Smokey Row Road, then to Keystone Boulevard. You will wind your way through a neighborhood then down the home stretch to the finish.

The 8K at the Carmel Marathon hosted the 2011 USA Track & Field's Men's 8K National Championship where the course record was set by then underdog Bobby Mack stopping the clock at 23:05, a 4:39 pace! Later, Mack's performance at our USATF National Championship was labeled his 'breakout' race and received the RRCA Runner of the Year award after multiple wins.

All participants will receive gender-specific tech shirts and a unique ISG 8K medal! Participants using baby strollers or baby joggers must start behind all runners and walkers.
