2023 Carmel Marathon Weekend

  • Fitness Expo & Packet Pickup

    • Date/Time: Friday, April 7, 2023 - 11:00 am - 9:00 pm EDT​

    • Location: Carmel High School - Freshman Cafeteria (Door 16)

    • Remember, there is NO Packet Pickup available on race morning

    • Expo Parking: Parking at Carmel High School is FREE and open anywhere you would like

    • Pickup up a packet for other is EASY! No ID or confirmation e-mail required!

  • Race Day Parking​:

    • Free parking is located all around the Start/Finish area encompassing the Palladium. REMEMBER, the intersection of City Center Drive and Third Ave will be closed for the event. Every year we see so many runners trying to drive to the garages only to get stopped and u-turned.  Plan your route to the parking garages in advance and remember Google maps will not know the road closure on race morning.

    • The four key locations including three parking garages and one surface lot, three are less than a 10-minute walk to the Start/Finish area. The fourth “shown as D on the map” is located on Main Street and will be closest to restaurants and bars following the race.  The parking map can be found here.

  • Race Day Shuttles:

    • Complimentary shuttles are available race day to/from the Home2Suites and Renaissance Hotel. Race day shuttles will begin running at 6am with the final drop-off at 2:30 pm. Only participants staying in the official hotels are allowed to use the ​shuttles.

  • Race Day Schedule:

    • 7:30 a.m. Runners to their Corrals

    • 7:45 a.m. Opening Ceremonies Begin

    • 7:52 a.m. National Anthem

    • 7:55 a.m. Final Pre-Race Announcements

    • 8:00 a.m. 5K and 10K Start

    • 8:10 a.m. Marathon and Half Marathon Start  

    • 9:00 a.m. 5K awards ceremony– results stage 

    • 9:45 a.m. 10K awards ceremony - results stage

    • 10:00 a.m. Half marathon awards ceremony – results stage

    • 11:15 a.m. Marathon awards ceremony – results stage

  • Franciscan Health Course Medical Team:

    • We are thankful to have the experienced staff of Franciscan Health on course to assist our runners throughout the day.  10 medical stations are located on course along with 10+ medical personnel on bikes.  They are there for you so flag them down if you need assistance.

  • Aid Stations:

    • Each water station will contain water, Gatorade and port-o-lets. All aid stations are highlight on the course maps HERE.  The aid stations will be staffed with medical personnel from Franciscan Health Carmel.  

  • Portalets/Restrooms:

    • Start/Finish: Portalets are located on the NE and SE corners of Carter Green on the southside of the Palladium.

    • Course/Aid Stations: Portalets are located at every aid station on the course.  Additionally, the three permanent bathrooms located on the Monon Greenway will be open. Only the marathoners will run by the permanent bathrooms on the Monon

  • Course Maps:

  • Downgrades & Transfers: EXPO ONLY

    • Online downgrades and transfers have CLOSED!  They will reopen at the EXPO on Friday. To transfer to another person, the receiving runner MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE to complete the transfer

  • VIRTUAL Registration is CLOSED:

    • By definition, running virtually is a decision in advance to participate but not participate live on race day. It is not to be used as an effort to get your gear because you realized you could not to attend a few weeks out.

  • Age Group Awards:

    • All four event distances will offer unique age group awards to the top-3 in each age group. All awards are distributed at the Results Tent located outside the end of the finishers chute. Your award will be given to you when you print out your results ticket. Don't forget because we will not mail awards!

  • Gear Check Available:

    • Gear Check will be located in the finisher's area and available to runners in all four events. The ONLY approved gear check bag will be the bag you receive at Packet Pickup. PLEASE REMEMBER to write your bib number on your bag on Friday night or at the Expo so you can drop quickly on Saturday morning.

  • Free Pancakes to all Finishers courtesy of the Indiana Spine Group:

    • Our good friends and long-time sponsors at the Indiana Spine Group, also Title Sponsor of the 10K, will be grilling pancakes and sausage for your calorie-craving desire in the finisher's area. The pancakes will be prepared in to-go containers for you to enjoy anywhere.  Please remember to say “thank you” to ISG team and all of their Docs flipping the cakes!

  • Athletico Massage/Recovery Tent: 

    • Thanks to our friends at Athletico, the massage/recovery tent is BACK! After your race, the massage tent will be located behind the results tent. 

  • Boston Beer Company/Truly Hard Seltzer Beer Garden:

    • The Beer Garden is located along the marathon course so be sure to enjoy a complimentary Boston Beer Company beverage or Truly on us to celebrate your day.  ID’s are required to enter the tent.  If your complimentary beer is not enough, our beer garden staff will have additional options on draft to buy.  Have a toast with our great sponsors and toast your day.

  • Indiana Vein Specialists Official Cheerzone at Midtown Plaza:

    • All races will run by Midtown Plaza with less than a mile to go.  Look up when you pass and see the finish line being streamed LIVE on the big screen.  Remember, to smile because you will be next once you hit the finisher shoot.  Send your family and friends to Midtown to watch the action and enjoy the excitement brought to you by Indiana Vein Specialists.
