CARMEL MARATHON Presented by Franciscan Health
The Carmel Marathon Presented by
Franciscan Health (a Boston Marathon
Qualifying race) attracts runners from
around the country to compete for a
cash prize purse and enjoy the
large-scale marathon event feel. In
2018, the event attracted participants
from 43 states and 4 countries and sent
22.5% of the field home with a Boston
Qualifying finish.

The start and finish lines are located north of the Palladium at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and City Center Drive. Runners and spectators enjoy the unique opportunity of seeing their friends, family or running partners start and finish in the same location. Staging starts at 7:30 a.m. with opening ceremonial remarks and National Anthem beginning at 7:45 a.m. followed by the 8:00 a.m. official start of the 5K and 10K, and 8:10 a.m. start of the Half and Full Marathon.
This walker-friendly event has a maximum course time of 6.5 hours after the last marathoner and half marathoner cross the start line, or until approximately 2:30 p.m. (15 minute pace/mile). The marathon course highlights the picturesque views of Hamilton County, Carmel Clay Parks trails and the Arts and Design District before returning to the Center for the Performing Arts.
Gender-specific technical shirts will be provided for all pre-registered participants and a custom marathon finisher's medal will be awarded as you cross the finish line.
