Carmel Marathon presented by Franciscan Health

Start time: 8:10 a.m.

Profile: Flat to rolling

Time Limit: 6.5 hours (15:00 / mile pace)

The Carmel Marathon presented by Franciscan Health course starts and finishes north of the Palladium on City Center Drive. The course highlights picturesque Hamilton County, Carmel Parks, and the Arts and Design District before returning to the Center for the Performing Arts. Runners pass by the start / finish line at the halfway point, getting a boost from spectators before starting the second half of the course.

In 2023, nearly 25% of finishers ran a Boston Marathon qualifying time, and the Carmel Marathon has been in the top 10 of Boston qualifying events.

Race Week Schedule

Friday, April 12

Expo: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.

     502 East Event Centre

502 E. Carmel Drive

All runners must pick up their packets at the expo. There will be no packet pickup on race day.

Saturday, April 13

     City Center Dr and 3rd Ave

7:30 a.m.   Runners to their corrals

7:45 a.m.   Opening ceremonies

7:52 a.m.   National anthem

8:00 a.m.   5k and 10k start

8:10 a.m.   Marathon and Half start

11:25 a.m. Cut-off time for 2nd loop

2:40 p.m.   Marathon cut-off time

The marathon course is flat to rolling and highlights some of the most beautiful parts of Carmel.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will be at the following locations on course, and include water and Lemon Lime Gatorade.

Pacers

There will be pacers for the marathon running the times below. Pacers will line up in the start corrals with signs indicating their pace and target finish time. Running with a pacer is free and no additional registration is required -- just show up at the start line and introduce yourself to your pacer.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top 3 overall and the top 3 in each age group for each gender. In addition, there will be a prize purse for the top 3 for each gender:

1st place overall Male and Female: $750

2nd place overall Male and Female: $500

3rd place overall Male and Female: $250

Course Record Bonus: $300 in addition to prize purse above
